My 40th birthday is fast approaching and I’ve be My 40th birthday is fast approaching and I’ve been thinking about what I want to do to celebrate. I’m not an overly materialistic person and I’m certainly not a party person and the more I think about it there is only really one thing I want to do. I want to learn to surf. It’s something I’ve always want to do but have lacked the courage to try it. Plus, I’ve always had an excuse to put it off, ‘Maybe when I’m fitter’, ‘maybe when the kids are older’, ‘maybe when the weather is warmer’ etc, etc. Lately I’ve added the extra excuse of ‘Maybe I’m too old now to even attempt such a thing’. But if not now, when? So this is me, putting it out into the world in an effort to keep myself accountable. No more excuses…. hopefully.

Ausmusic T-Shirt Day (Thursday November 30th) is a day to celebrate Aussie music and raise urgently-needed funds for music workers. Not only does @supportact offer financial help they also have a help line for people struggling with their mental health. I read somewhere recently that people working in the Australian music industry have levels of anxiety that are ten times higher than the general population and levels of depression that are five times higher. ‘The grey film of dust covering things has becom ‘The grey film of dust covering things has become their best part.’ I found this in the front cover of one of my old University notebooks. I was really into Walter Benjamin at the time. Though, precisely what this quote has to do with rabbits alludes me. I guess I just felt like drawing a rabbit. And then I felt like giving it a halo for good measure 🤷‍♀️
