LAMB: This morning was the first time in over 3 years that I woke up to an empty spot beside me in the bed. Your smiley, happy, “it’s 5am and I’m ready to start the day” face was absent today. You had your first sleepover at Nanny’s house last night while I was up late shooting a wedding for a friend. When Nanny dropped you home and you saw me standing at the end of the pathway waiting for you, arms spread wide, you burst into tears and ran to hug me. Then promptly vomited at my feet. You spent the rest of the day either in bed asleep or sitting in front of the T.V looking a little green.
Nothing like a hug and some vomit to totally sum up what it is to be a parent.
So very, very true.
