LAMB: After my twenty week ultrasound we asked the technician to write down the baby’s gender on a piece of paper so that we could look at it later. All three of us went to a cafe across the road, we sat down, ordered tea then I took the piece of paper out of my bag. I was the first to see what was written and I think daddy knew the verdict straight away just from the look of shock on my face. First and foremost the baby was healthy and I was so, so thankful for that but I have to admit I really wanted you to have a sister. I think partly because I love and adore my own sister so much and I wanted you to have that same close relationship. On the way home all I could think was “A boy? What does one do with a boy?” but after a few days the shock wore off and I came around to the idea. Now, as I sit here typing this, it seems silly to me that it was ever an issue. I’m glad you are having a baby brother and I’m so looking forward to you meeting him for the first time. You will be a wonderful big sister.
Oh, I must admit I had the same reaction when I found out that I was having a boy(although I already have two girls) – but oh, how I love my little boy to nits & the girls absolutely adore him x
Congratulations! You will love discovering all that is different about him. He is going to be so adored. I love how you presented the news too. Exciting times!
awww, congratulations! i think big sisters & little brothers are like peas & carrots. i secretly hope our next, when we're ready to have one, is a boy!
oh my goodness… i'm actually hoping for a little boy.. sean wants natalie to have a sister and feel the same as you did – what would we do with a little boy (or, moreso, a GROWN boy)
ha!
but, either way we'll be ecstatic and it will seem like it was never supposed to be any other way, you know?
congratulations to your family though – even though you found out quite a while ago. just wanted to add that i'm happy for you guys! and so glad he's been healthy 🙂
Congratulations! I'm about to have my third boy and I remember thinking the same thing when I found out my first was a boy "What on earth do I do with a boy?" Now it's hard to imagine any other way!
I am excited that they have a brotherhood, even if I never get to parent a girl, but brothers and sisters can be close too. All will be just fine 🙂 xx
I love the story behind this – I originally thought the same thing with this pregnancy as I want so badly for Sofia to have a relationship with a sister the way I have with mine, but now that I've had a while to ponder all the what-ifs of this pregnancy, I can say without a doubt that I would be quite pleased with a little boy too! Only a few more weeks until we know for sure…
Congratulations again on your pregnancy, I know that these two will become fast friends and inseparably bonded! x
Sisters are lovely, but so are brothers! Hooray! Kellie xx
Congrats! Boys are so much fun.
Boys are so much fun! So different in every way. Congrats! Can't wait to "meet" your little one!
